CommitteesThe Texas Society for Hand Therapy has several ways for our members to get involved with our organization. One such way is by volunteering on a committee. These committees work to advance the field of hand therapy through education, research, communication, and legislative advocacy. Advocacy Committee
Email: [email protected] The advocacy committee is responsible for educating and promoting the value of hand therapy to others throughout Texas. This committee is responsible for communicating with educators, philanthropic businesses, and legislators to share the message of the Texas Society for Hand Therapy. Each year, the advocacy committee helps coordinate "Day at the Capitol" in conjunction with the Texas Occupational Therapy Association.
Awareness Committee
Email: [email protected] The awareness committee is responsible for promoting the hand therapy profession for both our members and the general public. Each year, this committee plans events during Hand Therapy Week held the first week in June.
Education/Conference Committee
Email: [email protected] The education/conference committee works alongside the Education Coordinator(s) to plan and host the annual education conference. Members of this committee help formalize the conference agenda, acquire speakers, coordinate breakout sessions, solicit sponsors/vendors, and help with tasks during the conference to ensure attendees have a successful experience.
Newsletter CommitteeCommittee Chair: Vacant The newsletter committee is responsible for creating and publishing a quarterly newsletter, informing the TSHT members of important happenings of the organization. Each quarter, the committee solicits information from the Board of Directors and TSHT members to be published in the newsletter.
Social Media Committee
